Amber Misbaha for Jordan

الأردن

A small domestic market that punches well above its size, because Amman has been a re-export desk for the Levant and the Gulf for decades. A Jordanian buyer is frequently buying for three markets at once.

The 45-bead composition is requested here more than anywhere else we ship — it is a genuinely Levantine preference rather than a rounding error. Mid diameters of 8–10 mm dominate, with 10–12 mm on gifting lines. Transparent and honey tones lead.

One buyer, three markets

Jordanian trade houses commonly hold domestic retail, Gulf expatriate demand and diaspora gifting in the same order. That argues for a specification built to split — one profile and tone family, three packaging treatments — rather than three separate production runs. We plan orders this way as a matter of course.

Aqaba or air

Aqaba is the country’s only seaport and it works well, but for goods of this value and volume air freight into Queen Alia is almost always the rational choice: the freight cost difference on a few hundred kilograms is small against four to five weeks of sea transit. We quote both and say which we would choose.

Packaging language

Arabic-first packaging with English secondary is the norm. Where a client sells into both Amman retail and Gulf gifting we produce one carton design with a variable insert card, which keeps the tooling cost single.

What a first Jordanian order should test

Because Amman serves domestic retail, Gulf expatriate demand and diaspora gifting at once, a first order is most useful when it deliberately samples all three rather than betting on one. One tone family, two diameters, and the 45-bead composition alongside a 33 — placed as a small run so the market answers the question your forecast cannot. Our minimum is low enough that this costs less than the guess it replaces.

The 45-bead count in practice

It is not a curiosity here. Jordanian buyers request it more than everyone else combined, and offering something close to it rather than it is the fastest way to signal that you do not know the market. We tool for 45 as a standard count with no surcharge, and we would rather a buyer discovered that from us than assumed the usual answer.

Seasonality

Ramadan and the two Eids drive retail as everywhere, but Jordan adds a summer peak from returning expatriates and Gulf visitors that most suppliers do not plan for. Stock placed for Ramadan and exhausted by Eid leaves the second peak unserved. We would plan a Jordanian year as two releases rather than one.

Questions

Supplying Jordan

Yes. The 45-bead composition is a standard count for us and needs no minimum above our usual MOQ.

We normally recommend air into Amman. Sea via Aqaba is available and costs less per kilogram, but the transit rarely justifies it at the order sizes typical for this category.

Yes. A single production run can carry two or three packaging treatments; only the printed components differ.

No. It is a standard count for us with no minimum above our usual, and offering something close to it instead is the fastest way to signal you do not know this market.

Ramadan and the Eids, plus a summer peak from returning expatriates and Gulf visitors that most suppliers fail to plan for. Two releases a year rather than one.
