Our own refinement of the traditional barrel: a marginally fuller waist and a tighter shoulder radius. Developed over four years and used across the Luxury Series.

Custom dimensions are routine. If the profile you need is not in the library we tool for it, proof it against a physical prototype, and archive it under your account so it is never produced for anyone else.
Amber weight, by diameter
Integrated from this profile’s own geometry at 1.08 g/cm³, beads only. Amber is traded by weight, so this is the figure that turns a specification into a price.

What we changed, and why
The Classic began as a barrel and differs from one in two measurable ways: a marginally fuller waist and a tighter shoulder radius. Neither is dramatic on a drawing. Together they produce a bead that reads as slightly more substantial at the same nominal diameter and that catches a cleaner line of light along the strand.
It took four years of iteration to settle, mostly because the two changes fight each other — a fuller waist wants a generous shoulder to look resolved, and a tighter shoulder wants a straighter wall. The proportion that works sits in a narrow band, which is precisely why it was worth finding.
Reserved to the house
The Classic profile is ours and we do not cut it for anyone outside our own collection and the programmes we are commissioned to build. A client developing a proprietary profile gets the same treatment in reverse: it is reserved to their programme and is not offered elsewhere.
That reservation is a policy rather than a favour, and we will put it in writing. It is the commitment most easily broken quietly in this industry and therefore the one most worth having on paper.
Where it sits
Between the barrel and the capsule, and it is the profile we build sample sets around for that reason. A buyer who is unsure between traditional and contemporary is usually served best here: it reads as conventional to a Gulf customer and as considered to a European one, which is not a combination the other profiles manage.
It carries every diameter in the range and every amber grade we produce, and it is the profile behind most of the photography on this site.
Four years, and what the iterations taught us
The Classic went through a long series of physical prototypes rather than drawings, because the differences at stake are too small to judge on a screen. Early versions were closer to a barrel and read as unremarkable; later ones pushed the waist too full and began to look inflated at larger diameters. The band that works is narrow, and it moves slightly with diameter — the 14 mm Classic is not simply the 8 mm scaled up.
That last point is the part most worth knowing. Scaling a profile linearly across a size range produces a shape that looks correct at one diameter and slightly wrong at the others, and it is a mistake that is invisible until the range is on a shelf together. We hold a separate profile refinement per diameter band, which costs more in tooling and is the reason the range reads as one family.
Questions about this profile
No. Linear scaling produces a shape that looks correct at one diameter and slightly wrong at the others, which is invisible until the range sits on a shelf together. We hold a separate refinement per diameter band.
Yes, and it is treated exactly as the Classic is: cut for your programme and not offered to anyone else. We will put the reservation in writing.

Within a programme we build for you, yes. We do not cut it for third parties outside that, and we treat a client’s own profile the same way in reverse.
